How this works. Each payment type is mapped to its section under the Income Tax Act 2025 — TDS under Section 393, TCS under Section 394 — with the familiar old number (194C, 194J, 206C, etc.) shown for reference. The tool checks the threshold, applies the rate, and computes the tax. Where the rate depends on whether the payee is an individual/HUF or a company, pick the payee type. No-PAN: most TDS becomes 20%, purchase of goods/e-commerce 5%, and TCS the higher of twice the rate or 5%. This is an estimate for resident payments only — non-resident payments (Section 195) and salary (slab-based) need separate advice. Always confirm the current rate for your facts; this is not tax advice.
