This policy explains how Startup Advisory, a brand of KNAP Advisory Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”), LGF, Building 2, Lane 1, Westend Marg, Saket, New Delhi 110030, handles personal data collected through www.startupadvisory.in — our enquiry forms, calculators, live chat and email. It is written to meet the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and to follow the principles of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Personal data you share with us as a client for a specific engagement (for example KYC documents for a company incorporation or records for an income tax return) is also governed by our engagement terms and by the professional confidentiality duties that apply to Chartered Accountants.

Automatically, on every visit	IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring page, recorded in server logs and by the advertising tags described in section 4. Our form handlers also record your IP address with each enquiry to prevent spam.

We do not ask for passwords, card numbers or bank account details on this website. Please do not send identity documents through the website forms; we will ask for them through a secure channel once an engagement starts.

2. Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry, call you back and prepare a quote.
To email you the computation or document you asked for.
To deliver the services you engage us for, and to meet our legal, tax and professional record-keeping obligations.
To keep the website secure and to stop spam and abuse of our forms.
To measure which of our advertisements lead to enquiries (see section 4).

We do not sell your personal data. We do not add you to a marketing newsletter unless you ask us to.

3. Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run the website and respond to you, and only for those purposes:

Hostinger – web hosting; enquiry logs are stored on our hosting account.
Email service – enquiries are delivered to our team by email.
TeamHub – our internal CRM, where enquiries are recorded so a team member can follow up.
Tawk.to – live chat.
Google (Google Ads) and OpenAI (ChatGPT ads) – advertising measurement tags (section 4).

Some of these providers process data outside India. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, for example to a government authority acting under a statutory power.

4. Cookies and advertising tags

Our pages load the Google Ads tag and the OpenAI advertising pixel. These tags may set cookies or use similar identifiers to tell us when a visit that started from one of our advertisements leads to an enquiry. The live chat widget also uses cookies to keep your chat session. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work, though chat history may not persist.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for as long as it is needed to respond to you and follow up on your enquiry, and client records for as long as tax, company and professional regulations require. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.

6. How we protect it

The website runs over HTTPS. Enquiry log files are blocked from public access on the server, and access to our email and CRM is limited to team members who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to:

tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we have used it;
correct, complete or update it;
erase it, where we are not required by law to keep it;
withdraw any consent you have given – this does not affect processing already done.

Write to us at hello@startupadvisory.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to confirm your identity before acting. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once its grievance process applies.
